THE WINTER CAPSULE WARDROBE
The idea of a capsule wardrobe has always appealed to me- although I don’t follow the rules 100% (trendy pieces make their way in and out), it’s a great way to narrow your focus and prioritize your purchasing for a new season. In simple terms, the capsule is meant to reduce your number of items until everything left is absolutely essential. The capsule pieces work well together, and can be mixed and matched to create different looks without many extras!
I’ve created a general capsule wardrobe (post linked here), and a summer version as well (post linked here)- and as promised on Instagram, here’s the winter edition. Many pieces from the general post appear here, and i’ve added some winter accessories / heavier coats + jackets. hope you enjoy + find some something that will keep you nice and toasty this year. -Florencia
cozy joggers + hoodie: these can be worn as a set or separately, a must for casual sporty winter looks.
white sneakers: easiest shoe to style! for a more business casual style, check out Axel Arigato.
camel coat: a coat like this instantly elevates any simple outfit (plus it’s super warm).
turtleneck bodysuit: this works under a blazer during the day, and with leather leggings at night.
classic black bag: a year-round staple! of course I love the Coach Tabby- a great designer pick on the affordable side.
faux leather leggings: these Commando leggings are unreal! they fit like shape-wear, and add some cool texture to any winter look.
over-the-knee boots: my number 1 favorite shoe; these give you extra height plus another layer of warmth.
the teddy coat: these were popularized by Max Mara a couple years ago, and are still one of my favorite outwear styles in 2020!
cream sweater: knitwear in general is a staple for winter, and I love these wool blend turtlenecks from & other stories.
chunky lace up boots: these paired with thick knit socks are the perfect snow-day shoe.
black puffer jacket: happy that these are ‘in’ right now, but either way we have to wear them (on the east coast, at least).
white jeans: usually thought of as a spring / summer item, but I love how these can brighten up winter looks as well.
beanies: having a couple neutral tone beanies on deck is always a good idea (love these simple cuffed ones).
white shoulder bag: another fun way to brighten up the dark winter outfits.
light blue mom jeans: these are a season-less classic! add to an otherwise all-black outfit for some color.
